How do I take apart my Remington 870?!

OK I shot the Remington yesterday and it was beautiful. About 40 degrees out and my left hand kinda hurts from the recoil from the slide. Ran Remington and Winchester 00 Buck through and was mowing down plants and whatnot. ANYway I wanna take it apart and clean it. I tried before firing it and the magazine cap directly in front of the slide would not budge. After shootong I could move it a little. Now the next day it will not budge again. What do I unscrew? The cap directly infront of the slide? What about the piece that connects the barrel and magazine tube together with an X next to the screw? Do I do anything with that? What do I actually unscrew? Any help would be great! Thanks!

Here is the gun in question:

OK I have seen the videos and all that but the magazine cap screw will not budge! I even wrapped it in a towel and used pliers but will not move. It moved a little after shooting it but now it seems stuck!

That's great. I got mine yesterday too. Haven't shot it yet, but the video was helpful.

Hey dood-

There's a screw that secures the clamp that holds the Mag tube to the barrel. you gotta get that clamp off first. then it comes off...

l learnt that the hard way http://goldismoney.info/forums/pictu...&pictureid=220

:banghead:

I'll try to get you a pic of it

You may need to place the butt on the floor, grab on to the barrel and push it down a bit to take pressure off the end cap.

Unloaded weapon, of course.

See that Owner's Manual in your photo? Try cracking it open. Everything you need to know is in there :bear_tongue:

ACTUALLY - these are modified Mag Tubes... The owners manual does not include a breakdown for that componet. I've got the same manual.
